Terms of service

The rules, without the legalese fog.

Eight sections that cover what you're agreeing to when you use the Northkite site and dashboard prototype: what the service is, how to use it fairly, and what we do and don't promise while it's a prototype.

01

Agreeing to these terms

By using the Northkite website or creating an account on the dashboard prototype, you agree to these terms. If you're using Northkite on behalf of a company, you're agreeing for that company too.

If you don't agree with something here, the remedy is simple and honest: don't use the service. Questions first are also welcome — legal@northkite.io.

02

What Northkite is right now

Northkite is a front-end prototype of a retail sales dashboard. Accounts, onboarding answers, and board configurations live only in your browser tab; the numbers on the board are generated sample data scaled to your answers, not a live feed of your business.

That means the service is provided for evaluation and demonstration. Don't rely on prototype boards for real business decisions, financial reporting, or anything with money on the line.

03

Your account

You're responsible for the information you enter at signup and for keeping your device secure. Because accounts exist only in your browser tab, closing the tab deletes the account — we cannot restore it, and these terms don't create any obligation for us to.

Use accurate information on the demo request form; that's the one channel where a real human schedules real time based on what you submit.

04

Acceptable use

Use Northkite for evaluating Northkite. Don't attempt to probe, disable, or overload the site or its form endpoints; don't submit spam, malware, or unlawful content through the demo form; don't misrepresent who you are or scrape the site for bulk data; and don't use the service to build a competing product by copying its design or copy wholesale.

We may block traffic or ignore submissions that break these rules — that's the entire enforcement mechanism a prototype needs.

05

Our content, your data

The Northkite name, design, copy, and code belong to Northkite Analytics, Inc. The information you type into your own browser-stored board remains yours — we never receive it, so we couldn't claim it if we wanted to.

06

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of the sample data, or uninterrupted availability. It's a prototype: features may change, break, or disappear without notice.

07

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Northkite Analytics, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the prototype — including lost data (remember: the tab is the database), lost profits, or decisions made from sample numbers. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us to use the prototype, which is zero.

08

Termination & changes

You can end your account at any time by closing the browser tab. We may suspend or block access for anyone violating the acceptable-use rules above, and we may update these terms as the product evolves — the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change when we do.

If a change is significant, we'll note it plainly on this page rather than burying it. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

The one-line version

Evaluate the prototype fairly, don't bet the business on sample data, and closing the tab is the off switch.
